The Obskuur Ghent Film Festival is often referred to as Europe's most obscure film festival. An island oasis for art amidst a sea of commercialism. Sure, it's modest in form, as we mainly focus on screening films and less on the glitter and glamour. The festival focuses on contemporary cinema and video art and places its films where they belong – within the vibrant context of other art forms.

Non Person (Belgium) by Kris De Meester - Out of Competition

Filip, a seasoned artist in his sixties, has spent most of his life hiding his true self, haunted by a troubled childhood. He describes himself as a 'non person', merely existing, pleasing others, and evading reality, trapped in a facade. However, as he confronts his past, Filip embarks on a journey of self-discovery, finally embracing his authentic identity after six decades of suppression. Through introspection and acceptance, he begins to unravel the layers of his true essence, marking a profound transformation in his life.

Running time: 00:07:30

David Against Goliath (Canada) by David B. Ricard

Haunted by three unfinished films, a filmmaker seeks to demystify his relationship with failure through encounters with past collaborators. He confronts his demons and  parallels his quest with that of David's mythical battle with the giant Goliath.
